Why can't I request an item?

If you try to place a hold and were refused there are many possible reasons why.  Is there anything wrong with your account?  You may need to call 600-READ and have them check.  Your item may not be available for requests.  Items that are in Reference or in a special collection, such as the Heritage Center, are not available to request.  To see these items, you will have to go to the branch that they are located in. Another reason that a hold fails is that you already made a request.  Please check your holds list to see if it is already there.
